PD♥: Hong Kong (3D2N Itinerary) - 2nd Day

As promised, here is what we did on our 2nd day at HK.

Having been so tired of our exciting first day at HK, we still managed to sleep for 8 hours (Got home the previous night at around 12am then wash then ayun plakda!). We woke up around 9am the following morning so we really have enough energy to tour around and enjoy another day.

Nov 12 (Mon)

9:00 AM - Woke up and prepared for our cable car tour. We wanted our tour to be spontaneous so once we went out of the hotel, we make sure we won't be back until we finished our day's itinerary and from here, the tour begins.

10:30 AM - Went to Times Square for our brekky. We just passed by a cafeteria then ate something and off we left to our first destination. Times Square is the nearest mall from our hotel (around 10-15 minutes walk only).

Outside Times Square

Here is my outfit for the day. I brought a sweater
just in case the weather is too cold at night.
11:30 AM - Started our way to Ngong Ping 360. Just outside Times Square is the stairs heading down to the Causeway Bay MTR Station. We took a 10-minute MTR ride from the Causeway Bay Station to the Central Station (Island Line) then transferred to the Tung Chung Line and boarded the MTR again at Hong Kong Station and alighted at the Tung Chung Station where the Citygate Outlet Mall is located. The latter trip lasted for about 35-40minutes so be sure to be seated.

12:30 PM - Arrived at Tung Chung. We got thirsty along the way and found a Gong Cha stand so we ordered and have milk tea first before going to the ticket booth of Ngong Ping 360. I was so excited that I finished my drink very fast. It was a long queue but Ngong Ping 360 is one of the must-see attractions of HK so we really took the time to line up and wait. We got a roundtrip ticket for a standard cabin just so we don't need to queue up again on the other side. And because there was wifi, dedma ang haba ng pila. :) After waiting for around 20 minutes, we got in our cable car. Oh by the way, for adventurous people, you have the choice of adding 50HKD and ride the glass cabin instead of the standard cabin wherein the main difference was that the floor is transparent for the glass cabin so you can see the view below or as if you are walking on air and for those people who wanted some privacy or romantic ambiance, you can also ride on a private cabin but prepare for a whopping price of 2400HKD or almost PHP12K.

Popsy having his cup of milk tea before
heading to the cable car

Stairs to the Ngong Ping ticket booth with
the translations of "Welcome" in different
languages.

There you have it, Ngong Ping 360 - A must-go attraction
And the long line of people waiting to go inside the cable car.
Along the cable car ride, you will pass by this beautiful sight.
And our first tower out of the seven. This must be the longest
cable car ride I ever experienced (of course, compared to that of
SG, mas mahaba talaga to, lols!)

1:20 PM - Arrived at the Ngong Ping Village. It took us about 40 minutes to get there but the experience and the view was totally breathtaking. Literal un mga teh, I'm afraid of heights so you can imagine my fear when I was on the cable car for almost an hour! But as soon as we got there, I felt very childish and got very excited.

A view of the Ngong Ping Village before we landed.

And a creative show when we got there.

Popsy posing with the Giant Buddha behind.

And I got to pose under what they call as the Wishing Tree.

We didn't decide to go up the stairs so we
just took each other's picture with the
Giant Buddha on the background.

Got to have a pedestal to put the camera on so we managed to
take some cool photos on timer mode.

Loving this picture as it shows Popsy having fun.
Then a quick pose at the entrance of the Giant Buddha
before going back

5:00 PM - Started lining up for the cable car heading back to Tung Chung. It was a long line because the attraction closes at 6:00PM so almost all tourists were already queueing up to go back to the other side. Too bad I drained my phone's battery so we can't surf while waiting for our turn to board the cable car but it was still fun because we got to laugh at the pictures especially the kulitan pix we got.

6:20 PM - It was a long wait and it was already dark when we boarded the cable car so we didn't get any pictures by then. Good thing I brought my sweater because it was really cold up there and it was another 40-minute ride back to Tung Chung.

7:00 PM - Next on our itinerary was the Avenue of Stars but this starts 7PM so we don't have time anymore to rush and go to this destination. Instead, we decided to have dinner and buy souvenir items when we reached Citygate Outlet Mall. This mall is very cool because you got to buy branded items like Nike, Adidas, Giordano, etc at a sale price.

I ordered this very hot wanton noodles just to warm me up.

And Popsy ordered this pork with cheese and rice. Gusto niya daw
kumain ng kanin kasi gutom siya. :)

Bought some souvenir shirts from this Giordano outlet. 2 shirts for 180HKD

And because Popsy has no jacket, he bought a very nice Nike jacket.

And posed on his new jacket with his idol, Kobe.

9:00 PM - Boarded the MTR at Tung Chung Station. MTR from Tung Chung to Lai King Station is about 25 minutes travel time then from Lai King Station transferred to the Tsuen Wan Line and boarded the MTR at Lai King Station then alighted after 15 minutes at Mong Kok Station. Now, we will be shopping at the Ladies Market!!! (Sa wakas, may shopping galore). It was like the tiangge we saw in Greenhills but the items were cheaper than at the malls. Naghoarding kami ng ibang shirts, key chains and we also bought some Class A items. Overall, we were satisfied. In Giordano, the shirts were 2 for HKD 180 but there it was 5 for HKD100 only. The material was thinner but was still okay for souvenirs. We bought also class A LV wallet and perfumes. Perfumes there are cheaper than here at SG even if it's at Sasa. My favorite scent of Burberry Beat was 10 SGD cheaper. That night was a fun shopping night. We were there for almost 2 hours then headed home.

11:00 PM - Went back to the hotel. We hopped in at the Mong Kok MTR and alighted at Central Station then transferred to Island Line and travelled from Central Station to Causeway Bay Station. Mong Kok to Central was about 15 minutes while Central to Causeway was about 10 minutes.

It was a very tiring day but a very memorable and romantic one. I just loved how I and Popsy enjoyed this day even if we did not have enough time to go to the Avenue of Stars. And because of that, we still have a reason to go back. :) Hindi ko pa nalilibot ang HK. Haha!

By the way, before anything else, I would like to add the cost of our hotel stay.

Hotel - 2 nights for USD 212.00 (30 Days Advance Purchase)
Note at the reservation ticket: Book 30 days in advance and receive a 25% off. Full prepayment at time of booking, no cancellation, no amendment and payment is non-refundable.

And of course, for the breakdown of expenses per person for our 2nd day, please refer below:

For our second day, we spent HKD 333 or PHP 1,775 per person including meals and the Ngong Ping + Giant Buddha tickets. For our souvenir items we limited our budget to HKD 500 (PHP 2,665) each. I only spent half tonight so I can still shop on other pasalubong items like chocolates and some local food on our last day before we go home.

Until here.. XO! Blog for the third day at HK will be posted on the weekend :)
