Yesterday, Rhy and I went to Puerto Galera to attend the funeral of Tita Annie (Sister of Rhy's father). It was 4am in the morning when we left Manila. We took a taxi going to the Cubao Bus Terminal and took the Alps bus going to Batangas Pier. The fare was Php175.00 per head and the destination was two hours away. The bus took off at exactly 5 in the morning. Because we really lack sleep that night, we slept on the entire travel. The ride was smooth so we had a good rest.
We got off at Batangas Pier and went to the ticket booth to purchase our boat tickets to Puerto Galera. We rode in what they call a "Banca" which is a medium-sized boat which can carry up to more or less I think 45 passengers.
The earliest time of travel going to Muelle (which is the terminal closest to our destination) is 8:00am. It was misleading though because all the signs indicated 7:30am but when you have purchased your tickets, the banca normally leaves at 8am already. Ok lang, aga pa, ayaw namin mastress and it was only 30 minutes so we just used our time to eat before the travel. By the way, we took Minolo Shipping Lines and paid Php 250.00 plus Php 30.00 for the terminal fee per person. The ride was almost an hour and a half. The waters were very clear and I really admired the beauty of the seas of Puerto Galera.
Here were a couple of pictures I took while we were at the banca.
Oh diba? Ang ganda talaga ng beach during summer. Ang sarap tuloy magswimming but that wasn't our purpose so dedma nalang. Hahaha!!!
We went to the house of Rhy's cousin to rest for a while and extend our condolences before the funeral. We ate our lunch and about 1 in the afternoon, we proceeded with the car procession going to church. There we offered a mass and listened to the eulogy given by his son, Kuya Elton. Her Husband, Tito Hermie didn't have the courage to give his eulogy because he was still suffering from the loss of her wife and was crying when his son was giving the eulogy. Almost everyone cried during the eulogy because their family really had a hard time and faced financial problems just to extend Tita Annie's life through chemotherapy, expensive medicines and hospitalization. I didn't get to know Tita Annie very well but as what I could see during the mass, there were plenty of people who attended and extended their condolences and that just explains how good of a mother, wife, relative, friend and coworker she is.
She suffered from breast cancer since 2001 and her family was in her back the whole time she was in battle with the said traitor disease. And now that we had sent her to the loving arms of our Almighty Father, may her soul rest peacefully in heaven with Him. Here were some photos at the church...
The funeral ended around 3 in the afternoon, just in time for Rhy and I to catch the last trip of the banca back to Batangas. We took the last trip via the Blue Penguin and paid this time Php250.00 only per person. Before leaving, we took some pictures in the terminal and in the banca.
We arrived at around 6pm at the Batangas Pier and took a bus going to Manila. We arrived at home around 9pm. By the way, thank you to everyone who prayed for the soul of Tita Annie. Til here guys. XO!
